I don’t just teach this stuff, I actually do it. I’m a father of 2 young children myself and in 2015 I realised firsthand the pressures of working in sales and balancing life as a new dad. These techniques helped transform my perspective on fatherhood and my own mental health.

Hi, I’m Steve. I help parents feel happier and more confident through coaching and learning.  

When I first became a dad in 2015 it was a key life achievement for me – I was so happy. However, this very quickly descended into a state of anxiety, loss of confidence and loss of control. In fact, I became a nervous wreck. I later became anxious at work and in social situations, something I’d never really experienced before. I was trying to be the best dad I could be, but I had no idea that it was going to be this hard. Add in 12 months of sleepless nights and you have someone on the edge of shutting down.

On speaking with hundreds of parents to understand more about their journeys, it transpires mine was far from extraordinary. I therefore felt compelled to raise awareness so parents wouldn’t feel so alone and helpless.

I created Mindset Dad as a platform where dads can gain support from other dads experiencing similar challenges and difficulties. It’s taken me several years of research to construct a formula of mindset strategies for modern parents. I have drawn on my personal experience as a father and within a sports setting, my time studying with The Coaching Academy and my 20+ years in the working world.

I’m just a regular dad with a loving wife and two kids, striving every day to be the best dad I can be. Hopefully that means that you can relate in some way to all my challenges because they will most likely be the same challenges you face.

I believe all men and women can be great fathers and mothers and a major part of this role is to lead a purposeful life full of ambitions.
