A different kind of support
Help that works with your faith and culture, not against it
When you search for Islamic marriage counselling, you are usually looking for two things at once. You want practical help with your relationship. And you want to know that whoever you speak to will respect your faith, your culture and the expectations of your family, rather than quietly judging them.
That is the work I do. I am a couples coach, and I support Muslim couples, interfaith couples and intercultural couples to communicate better, understand each other and build a shared future, in a way that honours what matters to you.
Let me be clear and honest about one thing from the start. I am not an imam, and I am not a religious scholar. I do not give religious or Islamic rulings, and I will never tell you what your faith requires of you. What I do is sit alongside you, with respect, and help you both find a way forward that fits your beliefs and your life. If you want the wider picture of how I approach relationships, my marriage counselling page explains the method in full.

Who this is for
Who I work with
Over the years a good number of the couples I work with have been navigating faith, culture and the expectations of two families at once. If any of the below sounds like you, you are in the right place.
Muslim couples
Couples who share the same faith but are struggling with communication, trust, intimacy or the pressures of family and in-law expectations, and who want support that respects their values rather than working around them.
Interfaith couples
Couples from different faiths, or where one partner is religious and the other is not, who want to honour both sets of beliefs and work out how faith fits into their marriage, parenting and future together.
Intercultural couples
Couples bridging two cultures, including a notable British-Pakistani and wider South Asian cluster among the people I work with, who are navigating two families, two sets of traditions and sometimes two very different ideas of what marriage should look like.
My approach
How I work alongside your faith and culture
A worry I hear a lot is that opening up to a coach will mean having your beliefs questioned, or being nudged towards a way of living that is not yours. That is not how I work.
I respect your faith and values. Your beliefs are the foundation you are building on, not a problem to be solved. I take time to understand what matters to you both and I keep that at the centre of everything we do.
I do not impose, and I do not give religious rulings. I am a coach, not a scholar. If you need guidance on what your faith says about a particular matter, that is a conversation for an imam or a trusted religious teacher. My job is to help you communicate, understand each other and make decisions together, whatever those decisions turn out to be.
It is private and discreet. Many faith and cultural clients value discretion deeply, and I take that seriously. Sessions are confidential and non-judgmental. Online sessions in particular let you take part from the privacy of your own home, with no waiting room and no chance of bumping into someone you know.
The work itself is science-based and solution-focused. You will not just talk in circles. You will leave with practical tools you can use, the same structured approach I bring to couples therapy for every couple I support.

What we cover
What we work on together
Every couple is different, so the programme is built around your situation. That said, these are the themes that come up most often when I work with Muslim, interfaith and intercultural couples.
Communication. Learning to talk and really listen without it spilling into the same argument every time. This is the foundation almost everything else is built on.
Family and in-law expectations. When two families are involved, the pressure can be real. We work on how you set boundaries together, present a united front and stay close to your families without losing your own marriage in the middle of it.
Intercultural and interfaith differences. Different traditions, expectations and ideas about faith, parenting and roles. Not as a clash to be won, but as something to understand and navigate as a team.
Trust and intimacy. Rebuilding closeness, affection and trust when life, stress or distance have worn them down.
Decision-making and a shared future. Getting aligned on the things that matter most, so you are pulling in the same direction rather than quietly pulling apart. This sits at the heart of my relationship counselling work too.
In person or online
In person or online, with discretion
You can work with me whichever way feels most comfortable, and for many faith and cultural clients that choice matters a great deal.
Online, privately from home. A lot of the couples I support choose online sessions over Zoom, and discretion is a big part of why. You join from your own home, at a time that suits you, with no waiting room and no risk of running into a familiar face. It is private, flexible and easy to fit around work, children and family life. Online sessions are also open to couples anywhere in the UK.
In person near Manchester. If you would rather meet face to face, I see couples at my practice in Stockport, in the heart of Greater Manchester and easy to reach from Manchester, south Manchester, Cheadle and across Cheshire. Some couples simply do their best work in the room together.
Either way, the tools, the structure and the messaging support between sessions are exactly the same. We can talk through which suits you best on the discovery call.

Cost and how it works
What working together looks like
It all starts with a free discovery call. We talk through what is going on, what you both want and whether I am the right fit. No pitch, no pressure, no obligation.
From there I build a bespoke programme around your situation, usually six to twelve weeks. You get live sessions, online or in person, a private library of exercises and videos in a shared Google Drive, and unlimited messaging support between sessions.
Rather than charging per hour, I work as a single programme of around £1,000, with an optional fortnightly payment plan so the cost is easier to manage. You can see the full picture from the start, and the aim is to hand you the tools and then step back, not to keep you coming back indefinitely.

Common questions about Islamic marriage counselling
If yours is not here, the discovery call is the right place to ask.
Will you respect our faith and values?
Yes, completely. Your faith and values are the foundation we build on, not something I work around or quietly question. I take time to understand what matters to you both and keep it at the centre of the work. The whole approach is non-judgmental and respectful.
Do you give religious or Islamic rulings?
No. I am a couples coach, not an imam or a religious scholar, so I do not give religious or Islamic rulings and I will never tell you what your faith requires. If you need that kind of guidance, an imam or a trusted teacher is the right person. My role is to help you communicate, understand each other and make decisions together, in a way that respects your beliefs.
Can you help interfaith or intercultural couples?
Yes. A good number of the couples I work with are bridging two faiths or two cultures, including a notable British-Pakistani and wider South Asian cluster. The work is about understanding each other and navigating those differences as a team, honouring both sets of beliefs and traditions rather than asking anyone to give up what matters to them.
Do you offer it online and privately?
Yes. Many faith and cultural clients choose online sessions over Zoom precisely for the privacy. You join from your own home, with no waiting room and no chance of bumping into someone you know. It is confidential, discreet and open to couples anywhere in the UK. In-person sessions near Manchester are also available if you prefer.
Do you help with family and in-law pressure?
Yes, this is one of the most common themes I work on. When two families are involved the pressure can be real. We work on setting boundaries together, presenting a united front and staying close to your families without letting that pressure pull your own marriage apart.
How much does it cost?
Rather than charging per hour, I work as a single bespoke programme of around £1,000, usually running six to twelve weeks, with an optional fortnightly payment plan. Live sessions, a resource library and unlimited messaging support are all included, and it starts with a free discovery call so there is no commitment until you are ready.
